성우제는 연세대학교에서 학사과정을, Cornell대학교에서 건축학 석사과정을 마쳤다. 현재 충남대학교 건축학과 조교수이며 SP:PN:DA의 대표이다. SP:PN:DA는 디지털 건축 및 디자인에 특화된 스타트업이며, 건축 : 디자인 : 솔루션이라는 세 가지의 관심 영역에서 디지털 기술의 다양한 가능성을 실험하고자 한다.

뉴욕의 OMA (Senior Architect), SHoP (Senior Associate), Grimshaw (Associate / Leader of Computational Unit) 및 서울의 삼우설계에서 근무하였다. 대표작으로는 Disney Tomorrowland (Shanghai, China), Dubai Expo 2020 Sustainability Pavilion (Dubai, UAE), Barclays Center (Brooklyn, NY, USA), Quicken Loan Arena (Cleveland, OH, USA), 서천 국립생태원 생태체험관 (서천, 대한민국), 영천 경마공원 관람대 (영천, 대한민국), 아파트 배치 자동화 (GS 건설), 주차장 배치 자동화 (GS 건설), 데이터센터 설계 자동화 (SK건설) 등이 있다.

오시아노 호텔공모 (한국관광공사), Folly 2014 (The Architectural League of New York), Korean Rural Architectural Competition (MAFRA/UIA), Bentley BE Inspired (Bentley) 등의 건축공모에서 수상하였으며, 최근 Con-Tech Meetup Day, Pitching for Construction Technology Startups (SK건설)에서 수상하였다.

실무와 더불어 Harvard GSD, Cornell, U-Penn, Syracuse, CCNY, AA Visiting School, Social Algorithm, 고려대학교 등에서 디지털 디자인을 가르쳐왔다.

Woojae Sung is a founder of SA:PN:DA, and a professor at Chungnam National University. He is a registered architect in New York state, and has been an architect/designer since 2000 working with internationally renowned design practices in New York and Seoul including OMA, SHoP Architects, Grimshaw Architects, TWBT, SOM, Gensler and Samoo Architects.

He also taught numerous parametric design workshops at Harvard, Cornell, U-Penn, Syracuse university and CCNY. Teaching materials and articles on parametric design can be found on his personal website, http://woojsung.com.

He received his Master of Architecture from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and Bachelors of Science in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea.
