재료와 도구의 역사는 디자인의 역사로 볼 수 있다. 작금의 4차 산업 패러다임과 새로운 재료 "Data"는 디자인에 어떤 기회와 가능성을 열어 줄 수 있을까? 어떠한 도구들이 이 새로운 재료와 함께 디자인에 사용될 수 있을까? 몇 몇 사례를 들어 위의 질문을 고민해 보시는 시간을 가져보자.

The history of materials and tools could be considered as design history. What opportunities and possibilities can the current fourth industry paradigm and new material "Data" open up for design? What tools could be utilized in design with the new material? We will take a look at the questions above with a few examples.

이남주 소장은, 2004년에 NJSTUDIO 설립하여, 디자인, 컴퓨테이션, 시각화 사무소를 운영해 오고 있다. 서울과학기술대학교를 졸업 후. 하버드 디자인 석사, UC 버클리 건축학 석사, MIT 공대와 UTS에서 연구원을 하였다. ESRI에서 연구 개발 엔지니어로 활동하고 있다. 데이터 활용한 디자인 프로세스를 연구 개발 교육을 하고 있으며. KICDT의 운영 멤버로 활동하고 있다.
